Birds are animals that live in all the ecosystems of the world (they have a greater distribution after insects, bacteria or microscopic species) and although there is little knowledge about these by most of the people, they are the wild species that have the highest relationship with humans. Anyone in the world has ever seen a bird.
Likewise, birdwatching is an accessible activity that does not require much effort and investment, and allows you to have a relationship to nature in an authentic and real way. In addition, according to some medical research, it helps to maintain or improve your physical and mental health.
In English speaking countries “Birding Therapy” or Bird Watching Therapy has been spread as a treatment to maintain a healthy lifestyle and have a high quality of life. For these reason, Ikam Expeditions wants to share with you this hobby, in a professional and fun way, and become in your advisors for improving your quality of life and at the same time contribute to the conservation of these beautiful animals and the ecosystems that they inhabit.

HUMMINGBIRDS AND ORCHIDS
Hummingbirds and orchids are very representative wild species of Peru and especially of the San Martin region, for something Moyobamba, capital of the San Martin region, is recognized as the city of orchids.
Ikam Expeditions has designed expedition proposals to observe these wonderful species, to understand their biological characteristics and be able to recognize approximately 50 species of hummingbirds and 70 species of orchids.
3D/2N Hummingbirds and Orchids

5D/4N Hummingbirds route
The expedition aims to observe approximately 50 hummingbird species. The highlight is the Marvelous Spatuletail (Loddigesia mirabilis), an endemic species of Peru and recognized as the most beautiful hummingbird in the world.
THE NORTHERN PERU BIRDING ROUTE
The Northern Peru Birding Route is characterized by the high presence of an endemic and restricted birds.
Along the entire route you can be observe more than 12 different ecosystems and register more than 1200 species of birds, of which 37 are endemic. The highlight species are: Scarlet-banded Barbet (Capito wallacei), Marvelous Spatuletail (Loddigesia mirabilis), Long-whiskered Owlet (Xenoglaux loweryi), Yellow-faced Parrotlet (Forpus xanthops), Peruvian Plantcutter (Phytotoma raimondii) and White-winged Guan (Penelope albipennis), among others.
The Northern Peru Birding Route include the regions of Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Amazonas and San Martín mainly, having as a complement the regions of Loreto, Piura and Tumbes.

12D/11N: Endemics of Tarapoto, Alto Mayo, Abra Patricia and Jaen dry forest
This route offers the possibility to see and feel the great diversity and endemism of ecosystems and birds of northern Peru.

20D/19N: Endemic birds, orchids and archaeology
This route stands out for traveling through different ecosystems of Peru, rich in biodiversity and endemism that have also been the scene of several ancient cultures of ancient Peru as the Mochica, Chachapoyas, Chimu, Inca, and others, as well as the colonial history of these spaces.
4D/3N: Scarlet-Banded Barbet & Cordillera Azul Antbird
This expedition stands out for the search of two very particular endemic birds. The Scarlet-banded Barbet (Capito wallacei), which has a very restricted distribution, near the area called Cordillera Azul between 1300 and 1500 meters above sea level, has a striking white throat, a band of scarlet chest and a yellow belly, different from all other barbets.
